Vina Pomal
Bodegas BilbaÃnas was established in the heart of the Haro train station neighborhood, achieving a strategic location for transporting Bodegas BilbaÃnas wines by train to deliver them worldwide. We must go back to the year 1859 to understand the birth and history of Bodegas BilbaÃnas, as it was in this year that a great phylloxera plague in neighboring France forced the Bordeaux house Sauvignon Frères to flee from the plague, finding in La Rioja the best soil for producing and exporting wine to France.
Years later, in 1901, a group of businessmen from Bilbao bought the facilities and built a monumental winery with large underground cellars. In total, the different types of vineyards of Bodegas BilbaÃnas in Haro cover 250 hectares with an enviable quality, providing the winery with its own grape varieties and ensuring a quick processing to maintain quality.
Viña Pomal is a symbol of La Rioja’s winemaking tradition, renowned for its authenticity and craftsmanship. It remains true to its origins, combining meticulous grape selection with aging in American oak to create wines of timeless elegance.

Biography
Bodegas BilbaÃnas is defined by the entrepreneurial spirit with which the winery was founded, based on the vineyard: from the beginning, wines have been produced from its own grapes, and bottled on the property. This way, the quality of the entire process is controlled from the vineyard to the wine that arrives at our table.The winemakers of BilbaÃnas have always nurtured this innovative spirit, continuously renewing the vineyard and introducing increasingly sustainable cultivation techniques.
