The finish is savory and bright making it not only an extremely versatile wine but also a joy to drink on its own.
Selling Point An incredible value, considering where the fruit comes from.

The Story

Up and down the dramatic coastline of California, the chilly Pacific Ocean provides a regular cooling effect for Pinot Noir, allowing it to extend ripening and develop the grape variety’s singular charms. We source from more than 20 vineyards along the coastal range including Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley and greater Mendocino, Sonoma and Monterey Counties.

The 2022 Coastal California Pinot from BloodRoot is 54% Sonoma County, 26% Mendocino County, 18% Monterey County. Many of the vineyards included in this bottling are used for luxury vineyard designate wines and all were created with the same dedication and craft with which we produce all of our wines.

About BloodRoot

Producer Story

The spirit of BloodRoot is simple—make wines that reflect the soul of place, and make them at a quality and value that make them absolute no-brainers to drink. BloodRoot Wines is a project spearheaded by Noah and Kelly Dorrance, of Reeve Wines. The name connotes “life from death” as the “blood” of the vines is nourished by the “roots” and terroir that surround each plant. Known for elegant California Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Red Blends—while also playing around with more obscure varieties— BloodRoot is also involved in community activism as part of 1% for the Planet, and the annual Ramble—a music festival to raise money to combat gun violence in honor of the Dorrance’s niece, Evelyn.
