The Story

The Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper is in the southern third of the Oakville AVA bordering famous properties like Dominus and Vine Hill Ranch. Purchased by Charles Hopper from George Yount (founder of Yountville) and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877, the land was planted to wine grapes, prunes and walnuts. In 1960, the land was purchased by Bruce Kelham as part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards from the Kelham family in 1996, the vineyard is today planted with multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon.

About Carte Blanche Wine

Producer Story

Nicholas Allen grew up with one foot on American soil and the other immersed in the culture of two of Bordeaux’s oldest, greatest châteaux. He gained an early exposure and genuine interest in wine at the family dinner table. A restless, independent, free spirit, Nick knew he had to make his own mark on the world of wine. He looked west to the Napa Valley, where he found the tabula rasa he could transform into something entirely his: Carte Blanche Wine.
