The Story

Poggiotondo’s estate Chianti DOCG is a shining example of Alberto Antonini's commitment to crafting pure, vibrant, and food-friendly Tuscan wines. Sourced from certified organic estate vineyards in western Chianti, the vines thrive in unique marine-origin soils rich in limestone and fossilized prehistoric seashells. This specific terroir lends a distinct energy and chalky elegance to the wine, completely steering away from the heavy, over-extracted styles often found in the region.

About Poggiotondo

Producer Story

Poggiotondo is a highly respected estate located in the western hills of Tuscany's Chianti region, situated between Florence and Pisa near the historic village of Vinci. Originally founded in 1968, the estate is owned and directed by the world-renowned flying winemaker and consultant Alberto Antonini alongside his wife, Alessandra. Under Antonini’s leadership, Poggiotondo has become a benchmark for pure, authentic, and modernly transparent Tuscan winemaking that actively rejects the "over-extracted, over-oaked" styles of the past.
