Viladellops

Finca Viladellops is located next to the castle of Olèrdola, in the Garraf Massif wine region of the Penedès, 45 km from Barcelona and just minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. Its history dates back to 930, closely linked to the medieval tower and the creation of the wine village of Viladellops. Today, the estate preserves its historic architecture, 18 farmhouses, Romanesque chapel and agricultural heritage. Owned by the Desvalls family, Finca Viladellops entered a new era in 1999, combining modern winemaking with a 100% Mediterranean project rooted in organic farming and indigenous Xarel·lo and Grenache.

Philosophy

At Finca Viladellops, the land and vineyard are the heart of the project. The estate follows an organic and sustainable philosophy based on listening to the land, preserving soil fertility and working without synthetic chemical products. Certified organic by CCPAE, its vineyards are cultivated using biological and mechanical methods. The project is fully Mediterranean and indigenous, centered on Xarel·lo for whites and Grenache for reds. Every wine is made exclusively from estate-grown grapes, selected to express the history, salinity, freshness and authenticity of the Garraf Massif.

Biography

The Desvalls family has been linked to Finca Viladellops for generations, producing wine by traditional methods until 1980. In 1999, the new generation began a new chapter, modernizing the winery while preserving the estate’s deep connection to the land. Marcelo Desvalls, the current owner, is the driving force behind this era. Born among vineyards, he sees the project as both a legacy and a responsibility: to respect the landscape, protect the native environment and work with his team to produce quality wines that express the magic of the Garraf Massif.
