The Story
The history of Finca Viladellops dates back to 930, closely linked to the castle of Olèrdola and its perfectly preserved medieval tower. This historic setting marked the beginning of the wine village that still bears its name today: Viladellops.
In the 1990s, the estate entered a new chapter with the modernization of its winery and a renewed focus on producing high-quality wines with a distinctly Mediterranean identity. As part of this vision, Finca Viladellops placed indigenous grape varieties such as Xarel·lo and Grenache at the heart of its winemaking philosophy, with the goal of expressing the authenticity, heritage and character of its land.
Since then, the estate has remained committed to preserving its family winemaking tradition while showcasing the unique personality of its 100% Mediterranean landscape. Finca Viladellops is a reflection of an ancient wine village shaped by history, family authenticity and a deep connection to place.
Flors de Xarel·lo was created to stand out, and to make what surrounds it stand out as well. With its bright yellow-green color and its generous, textured palate, it offers a fresh and distinctive expression of Xarel·lo.
Made from selected parcels of old-vine Xarel·lo, the wine reflects the variety’s character and authenticity without the influence of oak. Each year, the best Xarel·lo plots are chosen to craft a wine with a clearly Mediterranean profile. The grapes are manually selected, allowing for lower SO₂ levels, and the wine is vinified in stainless steel with lees aging throughout the winter.
The result is a fresh, expressive wine with aromas of Mediterranean herbs, white fruit and aniseed notes reminiscent of fennel. On the palate, its mineral and saline character brings freshness, depth and a long, vibrant finish.
