The Character

Overall Balanced, elegant, bright
Mouthfeel Polished tannins, bright acidity, long finish
Tasting Notes A classic Oak Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon with dark fruit, structure, and lift. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, black licorice, subtle spice, and lightly toasted oak carry through to a layered palate with medium-grain tannins, bright acidity, and a long, balanced finish. Powerful and expressive, but still elegant and food-friendly.

The Story

Monticello has been making Cabernet Sauvignon since our first vintage in 1980. Grown from our estate vineyards in the Oak Knoll District, this wine reflects the balance that defines our part of Napa Valley: long hang time, bright acidity, freshness, and fully developed fruit.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is made to be elegant, expressive, and enjoyed with food. It is classic Napa, but with the lift and balance that comes from Oak Knoll’s moderate climate and our family’s farming-first approach. This is one of the clearest expressions of who we are as winegrowers: estate-grown, balanced, representative of place, and rooted in more than 55 years of farming.
