The Story
The name The Curator was coined by a friend, inspired by Bartholomew Broadbent, whose career has been defined by seeking out character-driven wines from around the world. Since the first vintage, a dedicated South African winemaker has overseen production, with Bartholomew determining each final blend – selecting parcels that best express Swartland in that year, rather than chasing a fixed formula.
Sourced from the dry-farmed bush vines in Swartland’s Coastal region, this reserve Chenin Blanc draws on fruit from vineyards aged 13 to 31 years, rooted in granite and shale soils at 160m elevation. North-facing slopes and an East-West row orientation capture just the right balance of sunlight in this Mediterranean climate.
