Dom de la Bonne Tonne

Domaine de la Bonne Tonne is located on the Côte du Py in Morgon, within the Beaujolais wine region of France. Owners Anne-Laure Grillet and Thomas Agatensi lead with a strong commitment to the environmental principles established by Anne-Laure’s father, Marcel Grillet, and uphold the estate’s rich family history. The estate’s current name traces back to Anne-Laure’s grandfather, Claudius Grillet, who uncovered in old land records that the farm was once called Domaine de la Bonne Tonne. He chose to revive the name, reconnecting the estate with its historic roots. Marcel later reinforced this heritage by switching to organic farming on the estate, which spans 1,100 hectares (2,718 acres), laying the groundwork for the ecological viticulture that characterizes it today. When Marcel and Monique retired in 2016, Anne-Laure and her husband Thomas took over, combining their experiences and shared curiosity. Now, Thomas tends the vineyards alongside Marcel and sometimes lends him a hand, while Anne-Laure draws on her deep connection to the land to guide the estate. For them, winemaking is a way of life, working with the seasons and caring for the soil so that their wines truly reflect their home.
