The Story
Gallica is located on our family property in St. Helena just off Sulphur Creek. The
deep and low fertility Cortina soils have been renowned for exceptional quality red
wines. Once in a blue moon a vintage comes along which stands apart from the
others. The 2023 vintage may be heralded as one of Napa Valley’s finest in decades
and certainly is the pinnacle from these thirty -three year old vines. Ethereal yet
grounded in this place, there is completeness and layered beauty. A brambling nose
with whiffs of lavender leaves, fresh plum, dried rose petals, and even a hint of
chamomile. Tannins are well woven into the fabric of the wine- sweet-with
tremendous length. Enticing to drink now with decanting but poised to age. 100%
Cabernet Sauvignon. Bottled May 2025.
