The Story
Our 2025 bottling of Chenin Blanc is a first for Gallica. Representing less than one percent of total Napa Valley acreage the fascinating history is far more impressive than the figure. Rich in both California and old world lore and styles, Chenin has been on my radar for some time and 2025 presented us with an opportunity to work with this reimagined variety. We harvested gorgeous fruit in early September- straw colored with a cast of lime green. Fermented in a combination of stainless and oak barrels, the wine has a long saline finish alongside a tension between salivating phenolic lift, white flower, and pomelo rind. Enjoyable now, yet has the structure to age, we recommend serving at cellar temperature.
