The Story
Monument Sémillon is a living tribute to South Africa’s old-vine heritage, sourced from the legendary La Colline vineyard in Franschhoek, planted in 1936. Farmed by the Roux family -- descendants of a 17th-century Huguenot pioneer—this parcel boasts rare genetic diversity, including shades of Sémillon long lost elsewhere in the world. With deep granitic soils and a cool southern slope, the site yields fruit of extraordinary character. Fermented wild and aged 18 months in old barrels, Monument is textured, nuanced, and built to age.
