The Story

Soldaat is a high-elevation Grenache from Piekenierskloof’s sandstone soils. With 60% whole cluster fermentation in concrete, it ages 12 months on lees across two tanks. Red cherry and strawberry dominate the nose, while fine-grained tannins and brisk acidity shape the palate. Named for “soldier,” a nod to Piekenierskloof’s military history, Soldaat is a pure, site-driven Grenache that rewards patience with layered complexity and long aging potential.
