The Story
Magnetic North is Alheit’s high-elevation Skurfberg flagship Chenin Blanc, sourced from bush vines planted at 520 meters on iron-rich sand and red clay. The vineyard is remote, demanding, and iconic -- its name inspired by both geography and the emotional draw of this place. The 2023 vintage marks a poignant moment: the passing of legendary grower Basie van Lill. The resulting wine is ethereal yet grounded, full of energy, clarity, and mystery. It is a benchmark Cape white -- vibrant, mineral, and unforgettable.
