Overall A beautiful balance of acid and luscious fruits.
Aromas Mango, peach, honeysuckle, acacia, quince
Mouthfeel Light bodied, incredibly smooth, maximum polish
Tasting Notes After coming strong out of the gates with their first release of this wine in 2023, the 2024 is masterpiece, (let’s hope it wasn’t beginners luck!) with the aromatics dialed way up and the mouthfeel even more crystalline and precise. In this vintage he harvested the Viognier slightly later and the Marsanne slightly earlier having learned from the results of the previous vintage. The 2023 was excellent but this is really phenomenal. For a pair of grapes that get very little recognition, this is the kind of wine that could easily shift the narrative.
Selling Point small production, balanced acid, aromatic white
Pairings Cream sauces, cheese, curries, fish, lobster, roasted nuts.
Sustainability Vegan, Green Practicing, Sustainable In Practice, Minimal Intervention / Augmentation
The Story
The newest wine to the Solar Fortun line up from a gracefully organically farmed vineyard lost in the countryside. Only the third harvest from these vines and the youthful energy is palpable, Incredible energy, acidity lift to balance the length and structure of the Viognier. An absolute delight in the glass.
